My apologies for the long absence – there have been many changes, not the least being a relocation and re-vocation. We’re trying to be like the five wise virgins of Matthew 25:1-12, and I heartily commend each of you also to “Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh!” (Mt 25:13)

I have long intended to clean up and convert the studies to the WordPress format and get them up and online, so I hope to make that the first chore. Many are interested in seeing what else we can discover about the Prince in the back end of Ezekiel, so I hope to revisit that at greater length as well.

I’m also intending to do some in-depth digging into the “onoma,” the authority and office of the Christhood. Believers are missing out on some core understandings – and subjecting themselves to foolish and vain traditions as well – because they fail to grasp the meaning and purpose of this word. But more on that later! Hopefully very soon.

Thanks again for your site visits and encouraging emails!

Hi everyone!

Lately, I’ve been enjoying the news and forum conversations with Ray Gano and our friends at Prophezine, and wanted to encourage my vast readership (<– sarcasm) to drop by and join in!

Plenty of discussions and topics to weigh in on, most dealing with various aspects of Bible prophecy. Some forums are about stewardship (saving $, keeping a larder prepped, etc) some discuss certain interpretations on various points of prophecy (the Two Witnesses, Christian persecution and so forth) and there’s also forums for finding churches in your area, films and news sites that others recommend, and so forth.

And that’s on top of Ray’s usual excellent offerings, including commentaries and interviews with noted Christian authors, economists, media personalities, and of course, plenty of pastors as well. So be sure to spend some time and visit – again, it’s http://www.prophezine.com – and enjoy!

While I’m speaking of web-based stuff, I also want to play favorites and encourage everyone to check out the sermons from the pastors at my church (Bread of Life Fellowship) which are available for free from SermonAudio.com.

The pastors at Bread of Life Fellowship are devoted to presenting the Word to the flock with expository preaching and teaching. Modeling after the first-century church in the book of Acts, Pastors Joseph LoSardo and William Poss shun modern fads and styles, letting God’s Word do the talking and the Gospel do the work. You won’t find fluff, frothiness, social topics or performance art in these sermons – they’re red meat, the Sheep Food so desperately needed in churches today that will nourish the flock and bring the church back to that Firm Foundation. If you’re weary of Doing Church, of going to services and getting nothing to chew on from the pulpit, grab yourself a fork and dig in!

Hi everyone! Posted a short comparison study on Matthew 6:33 this weekend, entitled “Why Words Matter.” It wasn’t meant to be topical – I had merely seen a post of that passage using a modern Bible translation, and the paraphrasing utterly reversed the original meaning of the Greek. Made me rather upset that such important principles and lessons are being lost, washed away, or completely upended all for the sake of making something easier to digest. So we have the Living Bible’s translation compared with the original Greek. See what it says to you!

I’ve also gotten some great emails recently on our study of the Prince of Ezekiel 46. Some points come up about contradictions with the Prince in Ezekiel 38, others suggest ties with the Prince in Daniel 9, and still others note similarities with Melchizedek. All are very interesting and have sent me digging through the Scriptures and wearing out my PowerBible program’s interlinear translation feature to get to the original Hebrew or Greek words!

(incidentally, if you don’t own Power Bible, I strongly recommend it. I’ve had it for years, and my brother got me an upgrade as a present last year. It’s a powerful tool, and *very* inexpensive.)

One of my dear brothers at church has recommended a couple of resources on Ezekiel, which I hope to get copies of in the short-term future.

I didn’t intend to open a can of worms with Ezekiel’s Prince, but what great conversations we’re having with scores of people who delight in the Word of God!

Blessings and love to all my brothers and sisters – keep on writing!

-Jim
